Accidental grenade blast kills ‘Israeli’ soldier in Gaza's Khan Younis: military
An ‘Israeli’ soldier succumbed to his wounds over the weekend after sustaining injuries from an accidental grenade blast in South Gaza, the military said in a statement.
He is identified as Master Sgt. Shmuel Gad Rahamim, of the Southern Brigade’s 7015th Battalion, from Givat Ze’ev.
A grenade exploded last Tuesday at around 8 AM at an ‘Israeli’ military post in Khan Younis, inside a room where soldiers were sleeping.
Two other soldiers were wounded in the incident, including one seriously.
A probe by the ‘Israeli’ military initially suspected that it was an attack by Hamas fighters, but later discovered it was an accident, according to Hebrew media.
This soldier’s death brings ‘Israel’s’ death toll in the ground invasion of the Gaza Strip to 473, a toll that includes two police officers and three defense ministry contractors.
