Crash which killed 3 Qatari diplomats caused by “steering wheel malfunction”: Egyptian media
A car crash on the international highway in South Sinai has killed three Qatari diplomats and injured two others who were heading to Sharm el-Sheikh for a peace summit, according to the Qatari embassy.

Details of the Accident and Victims
The vehicle, which was carrying five Qataris and an Egyptian driver, overturned on the highway about 50 kilometers from Sharm el-Sheikh.
According to Egyptian media, the steering wheel malfunctioned, causing the car to lose control.
The three diplomats killed in the crash were identified as:
- Hassan Jaber al-Jaber
- Abdullah Ghanem al-Khyarain
- Saud bin Thamer Al Thani
The two other members of the delegation were taken to Sharm el-Sheikh International Hospital for medical care, and their condition is being closely monitored by Qatari and Egyptian authorities.
The victims were officials from the Emiri Diwan and the Qatari Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
Urgent Diplomatic Mission
The delegation was on an urgent mission to finalize logistical preparations for the "Sharm el-Sheikh Peace Summit," scheduled for Monday.
The summit will be co-chaired by Egyptian President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi and US President Donald Trump and will include more than 20 Arab and international leaders.
