Jordan army foils two drug smuggling attempts with balloons

The Eastern Command of the Jordanian Armed Forces (JAF) today, Saturday, at dawn, thwarted two attempts to smuggle large quantities of narcotics into the kingdom. The smuggling attempts used balloons guided by primitive devices, a statement by the JAF said.

Details of the Operation

Border guards, in coordination with military security agencies and the Anti-Narcotics Department, spotted the balloons in two different locations.

“The balloons were shot down, and their contents were seized inside Jordanian territory. The seized narcotics were handed over to the relevant authorities for legal action,” the statement added.
