- Jordan holds 'Israel' responsible for the safety of two citizens aboard the Al-Dhamir Ship.
- The ministry condemned the attack as a violation of international law and called on the international community to hold 'Israel' accountable.
Jordan’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates is closely following the situation of two Jordanian citizens who were on board Al-Dhamir Ship in the Freedom Flotilla heading to Gaza, which was intercepted by ‘Israel’ Wednesday in international waters.
The ministry emphasized that ‘Israel’ bears responsibility for their safety and warned against exposing them to any harm.
Ministry spokesperson Fuad Majali stated that, through the Directorate of Operations, Consular Affairs, and the embassy in Tel Aviv, all necessary measures and communications are being taken to ensure the citizens’ safety, uphold their rights, and secure their departure.
Majali added that the ministry will provide any possible assistance for the evacuation of nationals from brotherly and friendly countries that request help.
He condemned the attack on the flotilla as a violation of international law, a threat to freedom of navigation, and a danger to civilian lives.
Majali stressed the need for the international community to fulfill its legal and moral responsibilities, hold ‘Israel’ accountable under international law and humanitarian law, and lift all restrictions on the delivery of humanitarian aid to Gaza to address the exceptional crisis caused by the ‘Israeli’ aggression against the territory.
