Jordan’s employment program secures 55,000 jobs, boosts wages
- 55,000 subsidized job contracts signed by the end of the third quarter of 2025

Jordan’s Ministry of Labor announced that the National Employment Program has achieved a milestone, with 55,052 subsidized job contracts signed by the end of the third quarter of 2025.
The program, recently restructured, aims to enhance job sustainability, improve worker efficiency, and offer new incentives for both the private sector and job seekers.

Women represented 51% of the total contracts, with 28,098 agreements, compared to 26,954 for men, highlighting the program’s success in promoting female economic participation.
Additionally, 6,726 participants from the National Aid Fund gained employment, receiving increased transportation allowances of JD 30 to facilitate commuting.

- Wage support increase: from JD 130 to 145 per month.
- Extended financial support period: from 6 to 9 months.
- Additional benefits: transportation allowances (JD 10 for men, JD 15 for women) and increased social security contributions to JD 12.
- Expanded age range: targeting 18 to 45 years old.
The program also prioritized training, providing 42,541 employees with job skills training and 10,765 with specialized occupational safety and health training in collaboration with the Vocational Training Corporation.
New initiatives focus on job seeker capacity building, including CV writing and interview preparation, as well as support for entrepreneurs through mentorship and business training to ensure sustainable growth.
With the program extended to July 31, 2028, officials expect it to boost Jordanian employment, spur private sector participation, and develop a new generation of skilled professionals and entrepreneurs, driving economic growth and youth self-reliance.
