Hamas calls Oct. 7 attacks "historic response" to 'Israel' on 2nd anniversary

• Hamas called the Oct. 7 attack a "historic response" to 'Israeli' actions, according to senior official Fawzi Barhoum.
• Barhoum said the group is working to overcome "all obstacles" as Hamas negotiators hold ceasefire talks with 'Israel' in Egypt.

On the second anniversary of Oct. 7, Hamas said Tuesday that the attack was a "historic response" to 'Israeli' actions, Agence France-Presse (AFP) reported.

"We reaffirm that the Aqsa Typhoon on October 7 was a historic response to attempts to eradicate the Palestinian cause," Fawzi Barhoum, a senior Hamas official, said in a televised speech.

Barhoum also said the group is working to overcome "all obstacles" as Hamas negotiators hold talks with the ‘Israeli’ delegation in Egypt for a ceasefire. 

"The delegation of the movement participating in the current negotiations in Egypt seeks to surmount all obstacles to achieving an agreement that fulfils the aspirations of our people in Gaza," Barhoum added.
