Million-dinar plate: Jordan’s “1-7” license number sells for JD 1.575 million

A public auction for special vehicle license plate numbers, held on Monday by the Driver and Vehicle Licensing Department, generated total revenues of JOD 4.76 million, all of which will be directed to the Student Support Fund to assist university students in need.

The standout of the auction was the coveted plate number “1-7”, which fetched an impressive JOD 1.575 million, marking the highest price of the event.

Auction Highlights

The auction saw intense competition over several distinctive plate numbers. The final results were as follows:

  • 7-1: Sold for JOD 1,575,000
  • 33-1: Sold for JOD 510,000
  • 66-66: Sold for JOD 425,000
  • 44-44: Sold for JOD 420,000
  • 1-9999: Sold for JOD 270,000
  • 1-777: Sold for JOD 260,000


The total revenue from the six featured numbers reached JOD 4,760,00.

Officials emphasized that the proceeds will contribute directly to supporting underprivileged university students through the Student Support Fund.
