Hamas directly linked the breakdown of talks to the failed assassination attempt earlier this month in the Qatari capital, Doha, saying negotiations have been suspended since the attack.
The announcement ends speculation over the stalemate, indicating that the security breach shattered trust and derailed the diplomatic track.
Still, Hamas left the door open to future efforts, provided its core demands are respected.
The group reiterated readiness to consider any proposals from mediators, as long as they guarantee Palestinian national rights, namely a full halt to the aggression, 'Israeli' withdrawal, lifting of the blockade, reconstruction of Gaza, and an exchange deal.
