Trump excludes Biden’s portrait in new White House Presidential Walk of Fame

President Donald Trump has added a “Presidential Walk of Fame” to the exterior of the White House, displaying portraits of all previous presidents, except one.

Instead of a traditional portrait of Joe Biden, the wall features a photograph of an autopen signing the former president’s name. The move references Trump’s repeated claims that Biden, toward the end of his term, was disengaged and not fully making decisions.

The omission marks the latest effort by Trump to undermine a predecessor he frequently disparages, including during his address to more than 100 world leaders at the United Nations General Assembly on Tuesday. Trump has never acknowledged his 2020 election loss to Biden, instead claiming, without evidence, that widespread voter fraud determined the outcome.

Trump had previously indicated that Biden would be represented by an autopen on the Walk of Fame. He has repeatedly suggested, without proof, that some Biden administration actions may have been carried out using the autopen without the president’s direct knowledge, casting doubt on the validity of documents and pardons signed in this manner. Other presidents have historically relied on the device for official paperwork. A key Republican-led House committee is currently investigating the Biden administration’s autopen usage.

White House staff promoted the completed Walk of Fame on social media Wednesday afternoon. Members of the press may get their first close-up look during a dinner hosted by Trump Wednesday night on the new Rose Garden patio, adjacent to the West Wing colonnade where the portraits are displayed.

The Walk of Fame addition follows a series of other design changes Trump has made since resuming office, including adding gold accents to the Oval Office walls, installing massive flagpoles on both lawns, replacing Rose Garden grass with patio stone, and beginning construction on a large new ballroom.
