Jordan, Belgium launch UN initiative for Palestinian children
Jordanian Foreign Minister Ayman Safadi and his Belgian counterpart Hadja Lahbib, along with an EU representative, co-chaired a high-level UNGA meeting Wednesday to launch the initiative “A Call for Palestinian Children in the West Bank and Gaza Strip” in New York.
The meeting, held as part of the High-Level Week of the UN General Assembly’s 80th session, seeks to leverage broad international diplomatic presence in New York to rally support for this humanitarian initiative.
It reflects joint Jordanian-European coordination to spotlight a pressing issue on the global agenda.

The initiative aims to draw international attention to the urgent humanitarian needs and challenges facing children in Gaza and the West Bank, and to unite efforts in responding to them.
