US President Donald Trump convened a high-level multilateral meeting on the sidelines of the United Nations General Assembly in New York, bringing together leaders from the Middle East and beyond to discuss the situation in Gaza and a potential post-war plan.

Seated at the main table were UAE Foreign Minister Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Indonesia’s President Prabowo Subianto, Qatar’s Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad al-Thani, Turkey’s President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, President Trump, Jordan’s King Abdullah II, Pakistan’s Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, and Egypt’s Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouly.

According to a report published yesterday on Axios, the session aims to present Trump’s post-war strategy for Gaza.

The meeting comes just days before Trump is slated to host 'Israeli' Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu at the White House on September 29, amid growing international recognition of the State of Palestine and Israeli threats to annex parts of the occupied West Bank.

However, no official statement has been published yet.
