Trump signals major shift on Ukraine, says Kyiv can retake all territory from Russia

US President Donald Trump said Tuesday that Ukraine could retake all of its territory from Russia, and possibly more, marking a striking departure from his earlier skepticism over Kyiv’s war aims.

“I think Ukraine, with the support of the European Union, is in a position to fight and WIN all of Ukraine back in its original form,” Trump wrote on his Truth Social platform after meeting Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky in New York.

Casting Russia as a “paper tiger” facing economic peril, Trump added that Ukraine could “take back their Country in its original form and, who knows, maybe even go further than that!”

Zelensky, speaking later at a press conference, welcomed Trump’s remarks as a major turnaround. “This post of Trump is a big shift,” the Ukrainian leader said, according to footage published by Sky News.
