First blood: ‘Israeli’ commanding officer killed in Gaza City fighting

23-09-2025 08:38|An ‘Israeli’ officer was killed during fighting in the Gaza Strip yesterday, the military announced in a statement, marking the first casualty in the new assault on Gaza City, which was launched last week.
He is identified as Maj. Shahar Netanel Bozaglo, a company commander in the 7th Armored Brigade’s 77th Battalion.
According to a military probe cited by Hebrew media; he was killed when a Hamas fighter fired an RPG targeting a tank, injuring him.
He was taken to a hospital, and later died from his wounds.
