King Hussein Bridge reopens for travelers after brief closure

The King Hussein Bridge (Al-Karama Crossing/Allenby Bridge) has reopened for passenger traffic this morning, Monday.

The reopening comes after ‘Israeli’ authorities suddenly closed the crossing yesterday, Sunday, just a few hours after it had resumed operations, causing confusion for thousands of travelers.

Background of the Closure

The bridge had been completely closed since Thursday afternoon following a shooting incident on the ‘Israeli’ side of the crossing, which resulted in the deaths of two ‘Israeli’ soldiers.
