“Genocide Greenlight”: Hamas condemns US veto on UN Gaza ceasefire resolution
Hamas issued a statement today condemning the United States' use of a veto to block a United Nations Security Council resolution calling for a ceasefire in the Gaza Strip.
The group called the action "blatant complicity and a full partnership" in what it termed "the genocide crime" against the Palestinian people.
'Green Light'
Hamas's statement said that the US veto gives a "green light for the continuation of crimes of killing and starvation and the savage criminal attack on Gaza City."
The group praised the 10 nations that presented the draft resolution to the Security Council and called on them and other international bodies to continue pressuring the government of Benjamin Netanyahu to end its aggression.
Earlier today, The United States again wielded its veto to shield its its ally ‘Israel’ from meaningful diplomatic pressure.
"The United States rejects this unacceptable resolution. It is beyond time that Hamas release every single hostage now and surrender immediately. The United States will continue to work with its partners to bring an end to this horrific conflict," a US envoy to the UN, Morgan Ortagus, said ahead of Washington's veto.
