The ‘Israeli’ air force has begun an attack on the port of Hodeidah in Yemen, according to the ‘Israeli’ army radio.

The Houthi military spokesperson Yahya saree said the group's air defenses were currently confronting the ‘Israeli’ jets. Houthi-affiliated media also reported an ‘Israeli’ aggression on the port.

Goal is to Disable Port

Hebrew Channel 12 reported that the goal of the airstrikes is to disable the port of Hodeidah for several more weeks, after repairs took place there.

Twelve airstrikes have so far targeted three piers in the port.

The ‘Israeli’ army claimed it struck a Houthi military site in the port of Hodeida on Tuesday.

"A short while ago, the IDF (Israeli military) struck a military infrastructure site belonging to the Houthi terrorist regime at the Hodeida port in Yemen," an army statement said, alleging the Houthis used the port "for the transfer of weapons supplied by the Iranian regime, in order to execute attacks against the State of Israel and its allies."

‘Israeli’ Defense Minister Yisrael Katz also posted on X, warning the Houthis that they "will continue to be hit and pay heavy prices for any attempt to attack the State of Israel."

Since the start of the war on Gaza on Oct. 7, 2023, the Houthis have consistently launched missiles and drones toward ‘Israel’ in solidarity with Palestinians.

In response, ‘Israel’ has launched a series of deadly strikes on Houthi-controlled areas, including ports, power plants, and Sanaa International Airport.

In late August, a major ‘Israeli’ strike on a Houthi meeting in Sanaa killed the Houthi prime minister and nine other ministers and officials.

More recently, attacks on Sept. 9 killed at least 46 people in Sanaa and the Jawf governorate, according to Houthi sources. The port of Hodeidah was previously hit in July, when a pier was destroyed.
