Several cast members from Game of Thrones and its prequel House of the Dragon have joined thousands of filmmakers and performers in pledging to boycott 'Israeli' companies accused of complicity in human rights abuses against Palestinians.

The initiative, organized by the group Film Workers for Palestine, has now drawn support from more than 3,900 artists worldwide. The pledge commits signatories to refuse work with 'Israeli' firms “implicated in genocide and apartheid against Palestinian people.”

Among those who signed are well-known names from the fantasy saga’s universe:

  • Emma D’Arcy (Rhaenyra Targaryen)
  • Olivia Cooke (Alicent Hightower)
  • Lena Headey (Cersei Lannister)
  • Liam Cunningham (Ser Davos Seaworth)
  • Carice van Houten (Melisandre)
  • Indira Varma (Ellaria Sand)
  • Tom Glynn-Carney (Aegon II Targaryen)
  • Charles Dance (Tywin Lannister)

Their involvement brings considerable attention to the campaign, given the cultural impact of the Game of Thrones franchise.

Celebrity activism has long played a role in shaping public debates on global issues, and the entertainment industry is no exception. By attaching their names to this boycott, these actors are helping to spotlight the ongoing crisis in Gaza while also prompting broader discussion about ethical ties within film and television production.

As support for the pledge continues to grow, the campaign reflects a larger trend of artists leveraging their influence to push for accountability and justice in political struggles.
