Turkish hackers humiliate ‘Israeli’ defense minister after leaking his phone number

A Turkish hacker group published Thursday the personal mobile phone number of ‘Israel’s’ Defense Minister, Israel Katz, and then escalated by successfully placing a video call to him.

The hackers later shared a screenshot from the brief conversation online.

The incident began after the group disseminated Minister Katz’s phone number, which he has reportedly had for years and which had been previously leaked.

One of the hackers then initiated a video call, which Katz answered.

The caller reportedly "cursed at" and "hurled insults at the minister" before he quickly disconnected.

Following the event, the hackers circulated a screenshot, and according to Hebrew media, Katz began receiving "thousands of hostile messages," including death threats. The minister’s phone number has since been disconnected.

There has been a large increase in hacking attempts targeting high-ranking ‘Israeli' officials since the beginning of the war on Gaza.

This includes a similar incident in which the personal phone of former Justice Minister Ayelet Shaked was reportedly hacked by Iran-based operatives after she clicked on a malicious link.
