Benny Gantz, leader of the Blue and White Party and former minister in the ‘Israeli’ wartime cabinet, said that military operations in Gaza are “moving very slowly,” while stressing the need to continue “until the end.”

Gantz said efforts must begin immediately to establish an alternative system to Hamas in Gaza, warning that this process will not take “days or even two months.”

He added that if an exchange deal is reached, ‘Israel’ must still be prepared to defend itself afterwards.

He cautioned against any halt or slowdown in weapons supplies to ‘Israel,’ claiming that its enemies would exploit such a move.

Gantz also argued that no country represents US interests in the Middle East better than ‘Israel,’ making it in Washington’s interest to maintain strong ties.

The remarks highlight a broad consensus across ‘Israel’s’ political class, including opponents of Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu on the need to achieve the declared war objectives despite acknowledging major military and strategic challenges.

Gantz’s position is consistent with his criticism of Netanyahu since withdrawing from the emergency war cabinet, where he has accused the prime minister of lacking a strategic vision and a clear “day-after” plan for Gaza.

This stance reflects that disagreements within ‘Israel’ are largely over mere tactics and not the offensive’s objectives, making a fundamental change in its course unlikely in the near term.
