A moderate maritime air mass is expected to affect Jordan during the second week of September, bringing a noticeable drop in temperatures to seasonal averages or slightly below.

The forecast calls for fall-like conditions in most areas, according to the regional weather service ArabiaWeather.

Cool Mornings and Mild Days

The weather is expected to be cool in the early morning hours, particularly as students head to school. During the day, mild, autumn-like conditions will prevail in most areas, while the Jordan Valley, Dead Sea, and Aqaba will remain relatively hot. Low-lying clouds are expected in the morning, especially in northern and central parts of the kingdom.

Maximum temperatures are forecast to be in the mid-20s Celsius (mid-70s F) in the highlands, and the high 20s C (low-80s F) in lower-lying areas. Temperatures will reach the high 30s C (mid-90s F) in the Jordan Valley, Dead Sea, and Aqaba.

Noticeably Cooler Nights

The moderate air mass will also bring humid currents from the Mediterranean, raising humidity levels to over 90% in some areas. ArabiaWeather warns of a chance of fog forming over some high mountain peaks in northern Jordan during the late night and early morning.

Important Recommendations

ArabiaWeather advised citizens to be mindful of the temperature fluctuations between day and night. They issued recommendations for residents, especially for schoolchildren, to wear a light jacket or warmer clothes in the early morning to avoid catching a cold.
