Jordan reaffirmed its firm stance against the forced displacement of Palestinians, describing it as a “red line” in the face of any attempts to expel them from their land.

Speaking on X on Saturday, Government Communications Minister Mohammad Al-Momani stated: “Neither the Palestinian people nor any country in the region, especially Jordan, accepts forced displacement. The right of return is fundamental, it is a human and legal right.”

Al-Momani criticized calls for Palestinian displacement as an attack on state sovereignty and equated them to a declaration of war. He added that such calls reflect a “racist mindset that has long been outdated and stands outside the bounds of humanity.”

The minister emphasized that Jordan stands within a unified Arab front rejecting displacement and reminded the world that the Palestinian people have inalienable rights.

His comments come as the 'Israeli' military on Saturday morning urged residents of Gaza City in the northern Gaza Strip to move south to a so-called “humanitarian area” ahead of a potential ground offensive, prompting a new wave of internal displacement toward southern parts of the territory.
