VIDEO: 'Israeli' forces intensify operations in Gaza, target high-rise residential towers
- Strikes hit Al-Sousi and Al-Mushta towers west of Gaza City

- 'Israeli' claims: towers allegedly used for Hamas military purposes
- Divergent conditions and conflicting stances between Netanyahu and Hamas on ending the war
'Israeli' forces intensified their military operations in Gaza City on Saturday, targeting several high-rise residential towers in what Palestinian media have dubbed a “war on towers.”
The strikes included direct attacks on some towers and evacuation warnings for others, with 'Israel' claiming that these buildings contained “terrorist infrastructure” linked to Hamas.
Strikes on Al-Sousi and Al-Mushta Towers
Palestinian media reported early Saturday that 'Israeli' warplanes struck Al-Sousi Tower, located in the western part of Gaza City. Earlier, the 'Israeli' military also targeted Al-Mushta Tower, a high-rise building west of the city, resulting in its destruction.
The 'Israeli' military additionally announced the targeting of another multi-story building, unnamed in reports, claiming Hamas was using it.
Urgent Evacuation Warning for Al-Ru’ya Tower
In a subsequent development, the 'Israeli' military issued an “urgent evacuation” warning to residents of Al-Ru’ya Tower and displaced families in nearby tents in Gaza City, ordering them to leave immediately ahead of a planned strike.
The military statement read: “To the residents of Al-Ru’ya Tower… the building will be targeted soon due to the presence of terrorist infrastructure linked to Hamas inside or nearby. Residents are requested to evacuate south toward the humanitarian area in Mawasi, Khan Yunis.”
'Israeli' Claims: Towers Used for Military Purposes
'Israel' repeatedly justified its strikes on the high-rise buildings, alleging that Hamas used them for military purposes. Claims included that Hamas fighters had established intelligence-gathering facilities and observation posts within the towers, and had built underground infrastructure nearby to coordinate attacks and as escape routes.
The 'Israeli' military emphasized that steps were taken to minimize civilian casualties, including prior warnings, precision weaponry, aerial surveillance, and additional intelligence measures.
Divergent Conditions for Ending the War
This military escalation comes amid widely divergent political positions on ending the conflict. Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu stated that the war would not end until four conditions were met: the release of all hostages, the disarmament of Hamas, Israeli security control over the Gaza Strip, and the establishment of an alternative civilian administration.
In contrast, Hamas maintains that the war should end entirely, with the 'Israeli' military withdrawing from all areas of the Gaza Strip.
