Arab Parliament condemns Netanyahu’s call to displace Palestinians
The Arab Parliament strongly condemned 'Israeli' Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s recent statements calling for the displacement of the Palestinian people from Gaza via the Rafah crossing, describing them as a continuation of decades-long policies of ethnic cleansing and forced displacement.
Violation of International Law and War Crime
Mohammed bin Ahmed Al-Yamahi, President of the Arab Parliament, said in a statement on Saturday that these calls constitute a blatant violation of international law, international humanitarian law, the Geneva Conventions, and relevant United Nations resolutions.
He added that the statements are a flagrant infringement on the Palestinian people’s right to remain on their land and establish an independent sovereign state, and represent a direct threat to international peace and security.
Al-Yamahi emphasized that forced displacement is a war crime that does not lapse over time and reaffirmed the Palestinian people’s determination to remain on their land, rejecting any attempts to uproot them.
Arab Parliament Rejects Attempts at Displacement
The Arab Parliament reiterated its firm rejection of all attempts by 'Israel' to displace Palestinians in Gaza, the West Bank, or any part of the occupied Palestinian territories, as well as any efforts to undermine the Palestinian cause.
Call for International Action
Al-Yamahi called on the international community, the UN Security Council, and the United Nations to assume their legal, ethical, and humanitarian responsibilities to halt these violations, stop the racist incitement by 'Israeli' leaders, provide international protection for the Palestinian people, and enable them to exercise their legitimate right to self-determination and establish an independent sovereign state, which he described as the only path to comprehensive and just peace and regional security.
