Tel Aviv receives mediators’ message on captives deal ahead of Rubio visit
As Tel Aviv prepares to host US Secretary of State Marco Rubio in ten days, 'Israeli' officials have received a message from mediators indicating that a partial captive exchange deal remains on the table.
The developments come amid stark warnings from US President Donald Trump about 'Israel’s' losing influence in Washington and growing concerns in Jerusalem over potential erosion of American support, prompting Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu to consider shortening the military campaign in Gaza.
US Visit, Mediator Message
According to 'Israeli' broadcaster Kan 11, Rubio is set to visit 'Israel' within the next ten days, coinciding with the ongoing military operation “Gideon Carriages 2” in Gaza City.
At the same time, 'Israeli' authorities reportedly received a message from mediators emphasizing that a partial agreement for the release of captives remains under discussion. If Tel Aviv responds positively, talks could proceed.
So far, 'Israel' has not issued an official reply, despite Netanyahu previously describing such a deal as “irrelevant” during a cabinet meeting.
Netanyahu Considers Shortening Gaza Offensive
Sources close to Netanyahu revealed that the prime minister is seriously weighing shortening the Gaza operation beyond the originally planned timeframe, concerned that 'Israel' could lose Republican support in the United States.
In recent days, Netanyahu reportedly told cabinet ministers that while the Trump administration provides backing, “this support is not limitless,” signaling that American warnings must be taken seriously.
