VIDEO: 'Israel' launches new spy satellite, vows constant surveillance of its enemies
'Israel' has placed another surveillance satellite into orbit, in what officials described as both a technological milestone and a warning to its adversaries.
Defense Minister Israel Katz announced on Wednesday that the Ofek 19 satellite had been launched the previous evening, framing the development as a demonstration of 'Israel’s' strategic reach.
“The launch of the Ofek 19 satellite yesterday is an achievement of the highest global level. Few countries possess these capabilities,” Katz wrote on X. He added, “This is also a message to all our enemies, wherever they may be, we are keeping an eye on you at all times and in every situation.”

The deployment comes just weeks after 'Israel' and Iran fought a 12-day conflict in which 'Israel' carried out long-range strikes on Iranian nuclear, military, and civilian sites more than 1,000km from its territory.
According to Daniel Gold, head of the Defense Ministry’s research and development division, 'Israeli' forces relied on more than 12,000 satellite images of Iranian territory to guide the attacks.
Boaz Levy, chief executive of state-owned Israel Aerospace Industries, which collaborated with the ministry on the project, said the mission highlighted the importance of space-based monitoring systems.
“The operation underscored that having advanced observation capabilities in our region is critical for achieving aerial and ground superiority,” he explained.
