The statement attributed the explosion to a “technical malfunction.”
“The possibility that the incident was caused by an IDF weapon explosion is being examined,” the military said, adding that it “regrets the harm to Lebanese army soldiers.”
According to the military's claims, the drone intended to target a Hezbollah site that the group was rebuilding.
The Lebanese army said in a statement that two people were killed in the blast, including an officer, and two others were injured.
