The ‘Israeli’ military said Thursday it intercepted a drone launched from Yemen after sirens blared in some ‘Israeli’ settlements near the Gaza Strip.

The army stated that following a "hostile aircraft infiltration" that triggered air raid sirens, the ‘Israeli’ Air Force successfully intercepted a drone launched from Yemen.

Early Wednesday, the army made a similar statement, announcing the interception of another missile fired from Yemen, where the Iran-backed Houthis have launched rocket attacks on ‘Israel’ in support of the Gaza Strip.

Since Oct. 7, 2023, the Houthis have continuously launched ballistic missiles and drones toward ‘Israel’, most of which have been intercepted.

The Houthis have also conducted attacks in the Red Sea on ships they say are linked to ‘Israel’. They say their attacks are in support of Palestinians in Gaza.

‘Israel’ has responded to these attacks by striking sites controlled by the Houthis in Yemen.

On Sunday, the ‘Israeli’ military said it targeted Houthi "military" sites in Sanaa, including targets near the presidential palace, power stations, and a fuel storage facility.

The strikes were claimed to be as a response to "repeated attacks by the Houthi terrorist regime on the State of Israel and its civilians."

According to the Houthis, these strikes resulted in 10 deaths.
