Jordan extends condolences to Lebanon after six soldiers killed

Jordan extended its sincere condolences to the government and people of Lebanon after several Lebanese army personnel were killed and injured while dismantling ordnance in the Tyre district of southern Lebanon.

Foreign ministry spokesman Dr. Sufian Qudah affirmed “Jordan’s sympathy and full solidarity with Lebanon, expressing the kingdom’s deepest condolences to the victims’ families and wishing a speedy recovery for the injured,” according to a statement.

Earlier today, a powerful explosion occurred in southern Lebanon during an operation to remove rockets from a military facility, killing at least six Lebanese army soldiers and injuring others, Roya correspondent reported.

The incident happened as soldiers were dismantling unexploded munitions left from the recent war between Hezbollah and “Israel”.
