Palestinian Authority faces unprecedented financial, economic siege: Abbas
Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas confirmed that the Palestinian National Authority is currently subjected to an unprecedented financial and economic siege due to the withholding of Palestinian tax revenues, which exceed two billion dollars, by the Israeli ×ccupation government.
President Abbas called on the international community to intervene immediately to halt what he described as a "crime of starvation" and emphasized the urgent need to deliver food and medical aid to Gaza.
He also stressed the importance of international action to stop the ongoing aggression against the Palestinian people in Gaza, to end settler terrorism, and to halt attacks on Christian and Islamic holy sites in the West Bank, including Jerusalem.
Abbas added that the world has been urged to pressure the Israeli government to release the withheld funds and lift the siege imposed on the Palestinian people.
He affirmed that the Palestinian Authority will not succumb to the systematic measures employed by the Israeli Occupation aimed at undermining the two-state solution and preventing the establishment of an independent Palestinian state.
