Nine injured in Amman apartment fire
Nine people sustained injuries in an apartment fire that erupted today, Wednesday, in the capital, Amman, according to the Public Security Directorate.
The Public Security Department's media spokesman stated that firefighting and ambulance teams from the Central Amman Civil Defense Directorate responded this afternoon to a blaze inside an apartment on the fifth floor in the Dahiyet Al-Rasheed area.
Fire crews successfully extinguished and brought the fire under control. The incident resulted in injuries to nine people, who suffered varying degrees of burns and shortness of breath.
Ambulance teams provided necessary first aid at the scene. Two of the injured were transported to nearby hospitals for further treatment, while the conditions of the remaining seven did not necessitate hospital transfer.
An investigation has been opened to determine the cause of the fire – the statement concluded.
