Jordan condemns 'Israeli' call to annex West Bank as illegal
Jordan’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates strongly condemned recent statements by members of the Israeli Occupation government, including the 'Israeli' Minister of Justice’s call to impose 'Israeli' sovereignty over the occupied West Bank.
The ministry described these remarks as a blatant violation of international law and 'Israel’s' obligations as the occupying power in Palestinian territories. It denounced the statements as an unacceptable assault on the Palestinian people’s right to establish an independent, sovereign state based on the June 4, 1967 borders, with East Jerusalem as its capital. The ministry reaffirmed that 'Israel' has no sovereignty over the occupied Palestinian land.
Spokesperson Sufian Al-Qudah emphasized Jordan’s firm rejection of these extremist policies and ongoing illegal 'Israeli' actions in the West Bank, including raids, settlement construction, and expansion. These actions flagrantly violate international legitimacy, especially UN Security Council Resolution 2334 and the International Court of Justice’s advisory opinion, which call for ending the Israeli Occupation, declare the settlements illegal, and reject all annexation measures.
Al-Qudah warned of the dangerous consequences of 'Israel’s' continued escalatory policies, stressing that all 'Israeli' measures in the occupied West Bank are unlawful and null.
