Sixth group of Gazan children, totaling 23, arrives in Jordan for treatment

The Jordanian Armed Forces, the Arab Army, on Wednesday evacuated the sixth group of children from Gaza, consisting of 23 children accompanied by 46 family members, as part of the Jordanian Medical Corridor initiative.

Of the group, 19 children will receive treatment in Jordanian private hospitals, accompanied by 39 relatives, while 4 patients and 7 family members will be transferred to Turkey for medical care, reflecting the humanitarian response from several countries.

The arrivals were received in coordination with the Ministry of Health and the World Health Organization (WHO). The medical evacuation was carried out with the highest standards of care. Since the initiative’s launch, Jordan has evacuated 77 children and 169 family members by land and air for treatment.

Jordan continues to seek the evacuation of more sick children from Gaza and aims to accelerate their transfer, although logistical and technical challenges faced by the WHO, along with other obstacles, remain significant barriers.

The medical evacuation efforts, led by Jordan to support the Palestinian people in Gaza, began in early March under royal directives, reaffirming Jordan’s unwavering commitment to aiding Gaza’s families.
