'Israeli' army says it assassinated Hezbollah intelligence official
'Israeli' army claimed Sunday that it had assassinated Abbas Hassan Wahbi, an intelligence official in Hezbollah’s elite Radwan Force, in an airstrike on the town of Mahrouna in southern Lebanon.
In a statement posted on its official Telegram channel, the 'Israeli' army claimed Wahbi was targeted in a Saturday strike due to his alleged involvement in efforts to rebuild Hezbollah’s infrastructure and transfer weapons.
In a separate development Saturday, the 'Israeli' military also announced the killing of Hassan Mohammad Hammoudi, the commander of Hezbollah’s anti-tank missile unit in the Bint Jbeil area. He was reportedly killed in a drone strike on the town of Kounine in southern Lebanon.
According to an army spokesperson, Hammoudi was responsible for launching several anti-tank missile attacks toward 'Israeli' territory during the current conflict, posing a direct threat to 'Israeli' forces, Yedioth Ahronoth reported.
Meanwhile, Lebanon’s Health Ministry said three people were killed in two separate 'Israeli' airstrikes on southern Lebanon on Saturday.
Although a ceasefire has officially been in place since November, 'Israeli' forces have continued to carry out airstrikes across southern Lebanon, resulting in casualties and material damage.
