Iranian authorities announced on Wednesday the gradual lifting of internet restrictions that were tightened after the outbreak of war with 'Israel' on June 13. This move follows the implementation of a ceasefire agreement that took effect on Tuesday.

The Cybersecurity Command of Iran’s Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) stated in an official media release that “the communications network is gradually returning to its previous state.”

The statement also accused 'Israel' of launching a “widespread cyber war” targeting Iran’s digital infrastructure in an attempt to disrupt services and gather intelligence.

Iran’s Minister of Communications, Sattar Hashemi, confirmed that the situation has returned to normal, saying, “With the return of stability, communication services have also resumed their previous status.”

Prior to the escalation, Iranian authorities had already imposed restrictions on internet usage, especially on social media platforms such as Instagram, Facebook, and YouTube. These limitations led many Iranian users to rely on virtual private networks (VPNs) to bypass the bans.

The decision to ease internet controls comes amid a cautious calm after 12 days of conflict between Iran and 'Israel'. The clashes included intensive missile exchanges and drone attacks, along with a US airstrike targeting nuclear facilities inside Iran.
