Iran will hold state funerals on Saturday for top military officials and scientists who were killed during the recent 12-day war with 'Israel', state media announced Wednesday.

According to the Islamic Republic News Agency (IRNA), the nationwide funeral ceremony is scheduled to begin at 8:00 AM local time in Tehran (7:30 AM Jordan time), just days after Iran and 'Israel' agreed to a ceasefire.

"The national funeral ceremony for... commanders and scientists martyred in the Zionist regime's aggression will be held on Saturday," IRNA reported, referring to the war casualties as martyrs.

Among the most senior figures to be honored is Hossein Salami, the head of Iran's Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC), who was killed on June 13, the opening day of the war. IRNA noted that Salami’s burial will take place earlier, on Thursday.
