US President Donald Trump called for the deployment of additional troops to Los Angeles on Monday, describing the situation in the city as "very bad" in a post on his Truth Social platform.

The statement comes amid ongoing violent protests that have now lasted for three days sparked by strict immigration enforcement measures. Demonstrators took to the streets to protest federal immigration raids, which they say are targeting vulnerable communities.

According to NBC, Los Angeles police arrested 56 people during the protests, which erupted in the city center. Protesters blocked major roads and clashed with law enforcement, prompting police to use tear gas and rubber bullets to disperse the crowds.

FBI Director also weighed in, stating that “Los Angeles is under siege by gang criminals,” and pledged to restore law and order in the city. Federal authorities are reportedly working to bolster security forces on the ground to regain control.

The unrest highlights growing public anger over Trump’s hardline immigration policies, which have drawn widespread criticism from human rights activists and residents. Trump, however, remains defiant, insisting his approach is necessary to uphold "law and order."
