King Abdullah II to attend UN Ocean Conference in France

His Majesty King Abdullah II will participate in the third United Nations Ocean Conference, set to take place on Monday, June 9, in Nice, France, alongside world leaders, senior officials, and international experts.

The King’s attendance underscores Jordan’s commitment to supporting global environmental and sustainable development initiatives, particularly those related to the management of shared natural resources, according to the Jordan News Agency (Petra).

The conference will offer Jordan a platform to showcase its achievements and highlight the environmental challenges facing the marine ecosystem in the Gulf of Aqaba.

It also aims to foster partnerships and attract investment to protect the Kingdom’s marine environment and advance its blue economy sector.

Participants at the summit will explore both challenges and opportunities tied to ocean conservation and the sustainable use of shared marine resources.
