Public Security denies child kidnapping rumors in Jordan

The spokesperson for the Public Security Directorate (PSD) confirmed that recent claims circulating about child abductions in Jordan are false and that no such complaints have been officially reported.

He clarified that the video and posts shared over the past 24 hours—claimed to show a child abduction—actually relate to a case of child harassment, not kidnapping. The girl’s father had filed a complaint with the Russeifa Police Directorate a few days ago, and investigations are still ongoing to apprehend the suspect.

The spokesperson urged the public to rely on official sources for information and to refrain from sharing any posts without verification, in order to avoid spreading panic and misinformation.

He stressed that the PSD is always proactive in publishing warnings and statements regarding issues and criminal behaviors of public concern.
