'Israeli' strike kills alleged Hezbollah members; Lebanon says three civilians dead
Two individuals, allegedly members of Hezbollah, were killed on Thursday in southern Lebanon following 'Israeli' airstrikes on the town of Meiss El Jabal, according to a statement by the 'Israeli' military.
The 'Israeli' army claimed one of those targeted belonged to Hezbollah’s elite Radwan Force and was operating in the border region. The second, also allegedlly identified as a Hezbollah member, was allegedly gathering intelligence for the group near the 'Israeli'-Lebanese border.
“Earlier today, the Israeli Occupation Forces struck and eliminated a terrorist in Hezbollah's Radwan Force in the area of Meiss El Jabal in southern Lebanon,” the army said in a statement on Telegram.
It added that a second strike targeted “an additional Hezbollah terrorist… who was operating in the area of the border and gathered intelligence for the terrorist organization.”
Lebanon’s National News Agency reported the same incident, stating that three people were killed in an 'Israeli' drone strike that targeted a scrap-collecting pickup truck between the towns of Meiss El Jabal and Blida. According to the report, the victims included one Lebanese national and two Syrian nationals.
Lebanese authorities have accused 'Israel' of repeatedly violating the ceasefire agreement reached with Hezbollah on November 27, which required the withdrawal of 'Israeli' forces from Lebanese territory. These violations include ongoing strikes inside Lebanon, which officials say constitute blatant breaches of the deal.
Since the ceasefire began, Lebanon has documented at least 2,768 violations by 'Israeli' forces, resulting in 195 deaths and at least 486 injuries, according to official Lebanese data.
