'Israel' announces military operation in Syria to protect Druze community
'Israeli' Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and Defense Minister Israel Katz announced today that the 'Israeli' military carried out a warning operation in the Sahnaya area of Syria, targeting a "radical" group allegedly preparing to attack the Druze community in the region.
In a joint statement, Netanyahu and Katz emphasized that the operation was intended to prevent the planned attack and that 'Israel' had sent a clear message to the Syrian regime, urging it to take immediate action to protect the Druze population.
The statement also underscored 'Israel's' expectation that Syria would act quickly to safeguard the Druze from any further threats.
The 'Israeli' Broadcasting Corporation reported that the attack in Syria was carried out using a drone, which launched a missile targeting a building where militants were allegedly preparing to attack the Druze. The broadcaster noted that no casualties were reported, as the attack was designed from the outset to serve as a warning message.
The report further claimed that the 'Israeli' military, along with the military intelligence division and the northern command, are closely monitoring developments in Syria.
