Jordan will be impacted by a khamasini low-pressure system on Wednesday, bringing a significant rise in temperatures—about 8 to 9 degrees Celsius above seasonal averages—according to the Jordan Meteorological Department (JMD).

Conditions are expected to be relatively hot across most regions, and particularly hot in the desert areas, the Jordan Valley, the Dead Sea, and Aqaba. Mid- and high-level clouds will appear, with a chance of light, possibly thundery, rain in western parts of the country.

The department said southeasterly winds will be active at times, stirring dust, especially in desert areas, and causing reduced—possibly near-zero—visibility. Dust intensity is expected to increase overnight, with rain chances persisting in western regions.

The public is advised to take precautions against poor visibility due to dust and slippery roads in rain-affected areas. People with respiratory conditions are urged to avoid exposure to dusty conditions.

A sharp drop in temperatures is expected Thursday, returning to near-average levels, with moderate conditions and scattered showers likely in the west. Weather is forecast to stabilize and remain mild on Friday and Saturday.
