Man bitten by viper while cleaning pool in northern Jordan
A rare incident occurred today in the city of Jerash, where a local man was bitten by a Palestinian viper while cleaning a swimming pool in the area.
Yaseen Al-Sqour, a snake and reptile expert, told Roya that the victim was quickly transported to Jerash Governmental Hospital, where he received immediate first aid. Sqour confirmed that the man's condition is stable, and he is currently undergoing treatment. He also urged caution, particularly in areas close to wilderness or places where reptiles are likely to be found.
Sqour explained that such incidents are rare, suggesting that the snake might have fallen into the pool from its natural habitat.
It is worth noting that the number of snakebite cases in Jordan has risen to 46 in the past month, with one fatality recorded in Karak Governorate.
