Gal Gadot as the Evil Queen in Disney's live-action Snow White movie
BDS movement celebrates success in blocking Snow White movie from Arab cinemas
The Boycott, Divestment, and Sanctions (BDS) movement has declared victory in its recent campaign calling for a boycott of Disney's "Snow White" in the Arab world.
The reason behind the boycott is the casting of "Israeli" actress Gal Gadot, who has previously served in the Israeli Occupation Forces (IOF), which is linked to the ongoing genocide in Gaza.

The BDS movement confirmed that the film had been withdrawn from theaters in Kuwait, Lebanon, and Oman as a direct result of the campaign.
Furthermore, Disney acknowledged the financial impact of the boycott, stating that it would reconsider the casting of individuals with controversial backgrounds in future projects. This move comes after the significant losses the company experienced due to the backlash against Gadot, who has been vocal in her support of "Israel’s" actions in Gaza.
"Snow White," a remake of Disney’s classic animated film, was produced with a reported budget of USD 270 million, including costs for production and promotion, according to Forbes. Despite the large investment, the film has struggled in some markets due to the boycott.

This action follows a similar boycott earlier this year, where the screening of "Captain America: Brave New World" was banned in certain countries due to the presence of "Israeli" actress Shira Haas in the lead role.
