Hamas comments on US airstrike on Yemen's Ras Isa Port
The Palestinian resistance group Hamas has condemned the recent US airstrike targeting the Ras Isa oil port in Yemen’s Al-Hudaydah Governorate, describing it as a “heinous crime” that led to the death and injury of dozens of civilians, including medics and port workers.
In an official statement, Hamas said the strike constitutes a blatant violation of Yemen’s sovereignty and amounts to a full-fledged war crime. The group added that the attack reflects ongoing US aggression toward nations that oppose American and 'Israeli' dominance in the region.
Hamas drew parallels between the US attack on Yemen and the 'Israeli' military campaign in Gaza, calling the airstrike an extension of what it described as a genocidal war against the Palestinian people. The group said it was part of a broader pattern of joint US-'Israeli' aggression targeting the region's populations.
The movement also sharply criticized the World Food Programme’s decision to suspend aid shipments to areas affected by the airstrikes in Yemen, warning that such actions will further exacerbate the humanitarian crisis amid the ongoing blockade and bombardment.
Hamas expressed full solidarity with the Yemeni people, praising their steadfast support for the Palestinian cause, especially the stance of the Ansar Allah group (Houthis), who have publicly reaffirmed their backing for the Palestinian resistance and their commitment to supporting Gaza until the aggression ends.
The statement also commended the resilience of the Yemeni people and armed forces in confronting what it described as "American aggression," urging the international community and human rights organizations to fulfill their responsibilities, condemn the violations, and support Yemenis in defending their sovereignty and land.
