Hamas issues statement on 'Israeli' strike on Gaza hospital
Palestinian group Hamas issued a statement Saturday condemning the 'Israeli' strike on the Baptist Hospital in Gaza, calling it a “new war crime” committed by 'Israeli' forces. The strike reportedly destroyed the hospital’s reception and emergency departments, displacing patients and the wounded.
Hamas said the bombing reflects the “criminal nature” of the occupation, accusing Israeli Occupation of disregarding international laws and humanitarian conventions. The group also blamed the United States, claiming the attack would not have happened without what it described as a “green light” from Washington and continued American support for Israeli Occupation, amid a lack of international accountability.
Hamas urged the international community, the United Nations, and Arab and Islamic nations to act immediately to stop violations against Palestinians. It called on people across the Arab and Islamic world, as well as global supporters, to intensify protests and public pressure to end what it called the “ongoing genocide” in Gaza.
