Macron tweets in Arabic, Hebrew about France's stance towards Gaza
French President Emmanuel Macron reaffirmed his country’s stance on the ongoing war in Gaza in a message posted Tuesday on social media platform X, calling for a political resolution and reiterating support for a two-state solution.
The post drew attention not only for its message but also for its delivery: it was initially published in English, followed by an Arabic version, and then a Hebrew translation two hours later—an apparent effort to reach multiple audiences in the region and beyond.
Macron outlined what he called France’s “clear” position on the conflict, stating: “Yes to peace. Yes to Israel’s security. Yes to a Palestinian state without Hamas.”
The post came amid growing speculation and online discourse regarding France’s role in the region. “I’m reading all sorts of things here about our intentions for Gaza. Here is France’s position—it is clear,” Macron wrote.
He went on to stress that peace requires “the release of all hostages, a lasting ceasefire, the immediate resumption of humanitarian aid, and the pursuit of a political two-state solution,” adding that “the only path possible is a political one.”
In the statement, Macron emphasized support for both parties aspirations: “I support the legitimate right of Palestinians to a state and to peace, just as I support the right of Israelis to live in peace and security, both recognized by their neighbors.”
