Jordan to send test flight to Aleppo International Airport
Jordan will send a “test flight” to evaluate the security and safety of operations for Jordanian airlines flying to and from Aleppo International Airport.
Haytham Misto, chairman of the Civil Aviation Regulatory Commission (CARC), announced that a test flight would be conducted in the coming days to assess the airport’s overall security and operational conditions before making a final decision on launching regular flights between Jordan and Syria.
He added that the test flight would include a Jordanian crew conducting a technical evaluation of safety and security measures for national carriers operating at Aleppo International Airport.
The move follows an official request from Royal Jordanian Airlines to operate flights to Aleppo International Airport after previously being granted approval to fly to Damascus.
Meanwhile, Syria’s Civil Aviation Authority has announced that Aleppo International Airport will reopen for air traffic starting Tuesday, March 18.
