JD 10 million food factory deal signed in Al-Muwaqar
The Jordan Industrial Estates Company signed a new investment agreement today in Al-Muwaqar Industrial City, where 33 dunums will be allocated for the establishment of a food manufacturing factory, with an investment of approximately JD 10 million .
The project is expected to create around 150 job opportunities during its initial operational phases.
Omar Jwayed, General Manager of the Jordan Industrial Estates Company, announced that by the end of 2024, the number of industrial investments in Al-Muwaqar City had reached 103 companies, with a total investment value of JD 641 million.
He further noted that these investments have generated more than 4,700 job opportunities across various sectors, including food industries, engineering, textiles, and packaging.
Jwayed highlighted that this new food industry investment is one of the largest to be attracted to the city and will significantly contribute to strengthening the national industry and enhancing the quality of Jordanian products. The factory's exports will target regional and global markets.
He also pointed out that Al-Muwaqar City attracted over 26 industrial companies in 2024, with a total investment of nearly JD 95 million.
Al-Muwaqar Industrial City, which opened in 2011, spans 2,500 dunums and has been developed in three phases. The most recent expansion, in 2024, added 305 dunums to accommodate the growing demand for investment.
Located east of Amman, the city is strategically positioned near the international road connecting Jordan with Saudi Arabia and Iraq.
