Syrian authorities impose curfew in Tartus amid unrest

06-03-2025 22:07|Local authorities in the Syrian city of Tartus announced a curfew across the city starting from Thursday night until further notice, following recent unrest in some coastal areas, which included incidents of rioting and violence.

The measure aims to maintain public order and ensure the safety of residents and citizens – a statement by authorities said.
The curfew will be in effect from 10 PM to 10 AM.
Exceptions to the curfew include emergency situations, such as transporting patients or addressing humanitarian needs, as well as essential workers in security, medical, and public service sectors.
Authorities issued the following guidelines:
- Movement in public streets and places is prohibited during curfew hours
- Citizens are urged to comply with official instructions
- Any violation of the curfew will lead to legal accountability
