Over 44,000 Syrians have voluntarily returned home, says Interior Minister
Jordan’s Interior Minister Mazen Al-Faraya announced on Monday that more than 44,000 Syrians have voluntarily returned to their country following the collapse of President Bashar al-Assad’s regime late last year.
In a post on X after a visit to the Jaber border crossing with Syria, Al-Faraya stated that Jordan has allocated 3.7 million dinars to upgrade the border terminal’s facilities and improve logistical services this year.

Last month, the minister had reported that nearly 35,000 Syrians had voluntarily left Jordan since Assad’s regime fell.
Following his visit to the Jaber border crossing center, Al-Faraya added that the terminal has been witnessing heavy shipping traffic, emphasizing that cooperation with the Syrians is at its best.
He also pointed out that the 3.7 million dinars allocated are part of a comprehensive plan to develop the terminal’s areas and enhance logistical services this year.
